Cavalry Division (Airmobile). They were never, ever called "1st Air Cavalry," at least at our level. I worked in G-2 (Intelligence), so proper naming was vitally important, along with spelling, error-free typing, etc. There was a funny saying about the unit patch they wore, but I won't repeat it here.
