I really appreciated Lawrence O'Donnell's take on her as a witness last night and the way he called out her privilege, complete lack of qualifications for her job, and record of supporting a very immoral candidate and POTUS. There's really nothing admirable about her at all if you think about it logically.
But the rest of the media seems enthralled. I've even heard a lawyer call her angelic. Her tears are assumed to be authentic, and much of the media seems to be worried about her. It's strange.
Apparently, it's been going on since day one. Lawrence showed a clip of Jonathan Karl kissing her on the cheek at a press conference. He said he's never seen anything like it.

(17,264 posts)but there are a lot of attractive people in the media. It just doesn't seem like that would be enough to get the total pass that she gets for so long.

(102,607 posts)especially compared to the nasty former Trumpers who end up spewing their idiocy on Fox. She has a reputation for being "nice..." something rare in Trump-land.

(17,264 posts)Lawrence said she was from a wealthy family so there might be some class consciousness going on too.

(91,093 posts)That attracts peoples immediate attention. While it causes some to dismiss her as a lightweight, it cause many others to see her as angelic and innocent.
On the other hand, she apparently turned out to be a quick study when she entered politics & Trumps White House. Shes apparently quite intelligent and well-organized.
Theres a brain in there, so shes not the innocent she appears to be. But its the good looks most people see.

(4,975 posts)If I understand correctly, she is a former model. Genetically selected and professionally trained, they are meant to be attractive to the media. Clearly she was smart enough to recognize the threat of the Access Hollywood tape, but sadly unable or unwilling to extricate herself from the toxic milieu that is TFG. Even when she did leave, she eventually returned. Hard to figure.

(16,479 posts)And she remained nameless on his show for her protection because she spent countless hours going thru tapes and emails and other communication to put together the evidence and timeline for the prosecution. Shes just a clerk but she should be recognized, not Hope Hicks.

(4,550 posts)Yeah, she is somewhat 'beautiful' by conventional standards for models....
However, that's not my type. I'm a pushover for "cute"-- the "girl next door" type...
Her tears may be quite authentic-- she's genuinely sorry that she was forced to testify against the man for whom she somehow still respects or believes in.... if so, I'll give her credit for being willing to tell the truth under oath (if she did)---
where a lot of MAGAts and/or Republicans would be quite willing to lie.
