IMO the most likely verdict is a guilty verdict followed by a mistrial, i.e. hung jury.

If there's a guilty verdict, that means there wasn't a hung jury, because the jury rendered a unanimous decision. You don't get a guilty verdict without all 12 jurors ruling guilty. There wouldn't be anything to follow that except appeals, where appellate judges--not a jury--could overturn the verdict.

A mistrial isn't merely a hung jury. Mistrials can be for all kinds of things, including juror or attorney misconduct (either side). Even if there's a mistrial, that doesn't mean everything is done and over for all time. The prosecution can still re-try the case under certain conditions and circumstances.

The second most likely verdict is a hung jury with the most likely cause being they couldn't reach a unanimous verdict. It seems a guilty verdict is unlikely. If the jury hangs it's unlikely we'll see a retrial before the election.

of sitting in that courtroom, unable to say anything while people testify about his various misdeeds, and he loses his shit and demands to testify despite his lawyers’ strenuous objections. It’s very unlikely but the chance of it happening might be a bit more than zero.

He gets to rant on TV every day after court is adjourned.

I think he knows he'll never testify, which is why he's trying to convince people that he's not being allowed to testify, though he has since admitted that wasn't true. He also uses weasel phrases like "I would testify" and doesn't flat-out say he's going to.

and I can't help wondering whether there will be a point during the trial itself where he snaps and demands to testify, right then and there. It probably won't happen but I don't think it's completely outside the realm of possibility.

Two reasons why the chances are greater than usual that this idiot will testify:

1. Roy Cohn ingrained in him long ago that when attacked, attack back, and harder, no matter what. It's killing him inside that he can't do this while people are on the stand. That conditioning is ready to chew through the reins at any second.

2. Narcissists have a very difficult time enduring even the smallest slights to their ego. Whenever they suffer an injury, even over something normal people wouldn't even notice or at least barely register, they have to 'get back' at the one who injures them. Narcissistic rage always follows narcissistic injury, sooner or later. And the more they're forced not to do it, the worse the rage gets, and the greater the need to retaliate.

I'm sure his attorneys are fighting a Herculean battle every single day to remind him that it would be suicide to get on the stand. Meanwhile, I'm chanting, 'Please please please let this malignant narcissist get up there and let that narcissist freak flag fly.'

He's been ready to blow since he had to appear in court, so I think the odds are 1:3 that TSF waits until the very last second before the defence rests to demand his right to testify. It's killing him not to be able to get back at all of those people who hurt his precious fee-fees.

I can't imagine who they'd put on the stand as a defense witness - someone who has first-hand knowledge of what happened. All of those people have already testified for the prosecution.

About the only thing they can do is say, "The defense rests." Then, they can jabber in their closing arguments.
