Many people seem to think dealing with climate change will bring poverty and limit human development.
The truth may be exactly the opposite. Moving to a world of where we aren't fighting each other over the last few drops of oil, where energy is free, will mean a better life, with greater opportunities even for an expanding population. If we make the right decisions, we could be on the verge of the most prosperous period in human history.

current batteries probably will wear out faster.
batteries 10 years from now, I'm betting, will be better.
Hot swapping batteries makes the "wearing out" problem less acute, since there is
an after market for even "used" batteries.

2. Electric cars are a temporary
solution, unless technological advances are made in them. Presently, electrocution is a major hazard for electric car mechanics, too much amperage. We must have solar & hydroelectric power plants expanded also,(no nukes, no "clean coal")even if we find an alternative to electric cars. In America, as we know it, electricity or any energy will never be "free," unless we implement a viable alternative to capitalism. We need a free, non-polluting form of transportation. Also, "flying cars" could've been a widely used luxury by now. The FAA (led by their corporate masters) killed the implementation of a very feasible technology (it still is). Too bad, that in a "Republic Democracy" we the people, will have no say in our futures regarding transportation. We need to be like European countries and demand a voice. We aren't even allowed "at the table" for health care "reforms." :wtf:
