10. I remember how I was living up on unemployment...
Buying gas so I could find a job, jazzing up my ramen with an egg and a slice of cheese. Man, those were the days. Here's the real reason people in KY that like Rand Paul like Rand Paul...they're stupid.

15. Lol.
Glad somebody said it. Now I'm going to sit back and wait for the utter outrage from people who are offended because they live in Kentucky and think you personally attacked them. I grew up in Indiana, but am not at all offended when others talk about how stupid people in that state often tend to be.

18. Straight Face
She is talking about how bad poor people are living it up with their $300 weekly check. All the while a huge corporation like BP, that makes billions of dollars in profits every year, is killing their workers and dumping billions of gallons of oil into the Gulf, not to mention the dispersant. Then they give the CEO a bonus check for over a million dollars. Thats who she is supporting

on the 'belief' is most important above anything else. Naturally, they also think Fake news is truth. They don't follow anything else so they don't know. And if you should mention, say, looking up Media Matters, they look like you are enticing them to look at something illegal.

14. I just moved "back home" to Tn.
These "people" are the norm. They individually will admit (for instance) that what people do in the privacy of their bedroom, is their business. Get them together and "groupthink" changes everything. I tell them that these "issues" are just to keep people from confronting the actual problems. Singly, they agree, in a group? They are idiots.
I am disabled. I receive (money I paid for years) less a week from my Union disability (SS has fought me for 6 years), than I earned in a day while working. I have a Degree in English Lit., but I am a Union Carpenter because that is (still) what I enjoy doing.
If it weren't for the Union, I would have no insurance and die miserably. I have critical stage heart failure.
I speak to people while applying for foodstamps for my Son and myself. They are rabidly Republican. Most of them need medical care, but think that universal health care is SOCIALISM. Yet, when a free clinic opens up for a day or two, they will travel hundreds of miles to get treated...
Of course the "S" word, is unAmerican...
The fools that these people are, is unbearable. Of course, Unions are a "rip-off"....Minimum wage is great...
UUUUGH!

21. backwardness says weakness...
yet somehow the reactionary right has redefined it as strength. Strangely, if one listens to the hate radio goofs, who set up everything so that the 'victims' are the men running the show- who are streetsmart and capable- while anyone critical of their warpig ideals or greed is good policies is a whining loser. The upper class is basically an idea (control of information, belief, facts, truth, logic etc) and the details are humdrum blah blah; iow they don't matter. Society is FORMED by misunderstandings, going back all the way to Adam and Eve, or caveman days, if you prefer. The contest is simple truth versus lies, good versus bad, laws versus criminality, privilege versus need. They can dress it up in all the fine clothes they want, but the emperor is, was and always will be naked. Putting the rightwing idea of privilege (for the few) ahead of the leftwing idea (needs of the many) has always been the trick, and the fact is our very society has been built upon fiction that the privileged few looked out for the many. That's not true. Enormous amounts of blood has been shed fighting against the privileged, over entire human history, and the battle looks to be lost, BUT... The reactionary right is its own downfall- it must destroy society in order to prosper, to survive. At some point, the hard men who are in charge of the streets will realize they've been screwed, and WHAM! It's gonna happen, eventually, but ....let's just say the 'backward' people haven't the power, aren't the problem, so they shouldn't get the blame. The reactionary racist greedy fool rightwing is the problem, always was. The rightwing hope to set up death camps for us, just like Meester Hitler did. But they're playing with fire.

This chick has obviously never had Unemployment, because you can't even cover your rent, bills and eat at the same time. Some people can't even qualify for food stamps. Give me a break!

16. I was on unemployment a few years ago -- between jobs.Updated at 3:29 PM
Nobody can possibly "live it up" on unemployment. You do not receive as much from unemployment as you earn when you have a job. Your unemployment benefits are scaled so that you don't get what you were earning. The young woman who makes that statement did not bother to inform herself about the most obvious and basic facts about unemployment benefits. What a waste of time she is. She should not be reporting or commenting for any broadcaster that wants to be trusted and respected. She didn't do her homework. Middle America, my eye. Ignorant America is more like it.
