Summary: Cenk Uygur (host of The Young Turks) on his weekly Friday segment on MSNBC Live at 3pm ET/12pm PT debating conservative blogger Matt Lewis on Rep. Anthony Weiner's rant on the House floor regarding medical care for 9-11 emergency responders.

PS---Cenk will be hosting MSNBC Live Monday August 2nd though Friday August 6th from 3-4pm Eastern, 12-1pm Pacific. Watch Live or set your DVR/TiVo to record the shows!

In the defense of our principles and of what's right.

If Mondale had sounded like that in 1984, if Michael Dukakis had sounded like that in 1988, if Al Gore had sounded like that in 2000, if John Kerry had sounded like that in 2004...each would have won in a landslide.

Americans vote for fighters. At one point, Barack Obama knew that. If he can remember it again, we'll win big this fall. If even our congressional leaders can remember it, we'll win big.

Quietness and blandness NEVER work for this party. Nor does caving in to the schoolyard bullies on the other side. They can ONLY be beaten if they're shouted down!

4. I vote for banning talking points
At least Cenk tried to explain what happened procedurally about the Democrats wanting an up or down vote (and apparently the Republicans had said they would vote for it) with no amendments and that taking a 2/3rds vote. So what does the rightwing guy say in reaction? He repeats the same damn 'talking points' that he had already recited. Talking points are the end of thinking and legitimate debate. All these reichwing parrots do is continually repeat the talking points of the day even if it doesn't really make sense in the context of what is being said by the other side.

5. A question for Cenk or someone that knows the rules...
First I'd like to say I love Anthony Weiner's rant, it never gets old no matter how many times I've watched it ;)

But here's the question:

Aren't the House congresspeople supposed to direct their comments to the 'chairman/woman' like they do in the Senate? I'm sure that Weiner knows the rules since he has presided over the proceedings many times, but the first time I watch the Weiner rant I thought the chairperson was going to beat his gavel and tell Weiner he was out of order when he started yelling at King to 'sit down' and also I thought it was strange that he told him to sit down since as far as I know there isn't any rule about having to sit down ;) LOL :)
