(34,531 posts)Those "icicles" look as though they could fall at any moment. Not too festive to spend NY's day in the emergency room.

(5,167 posts)The scene is so soulless, so empty of meaning.
How much do you think they paid per person, per couple?
$1000?
$2000?
The only saving grace of the whole scene would be if a decent charity benefitted.

(269,328 posts)Trump looks to cash in from lavish NYE party at Mar-a-Lago but is it ethical?
Donald Trump is throwing a lavish party tonight, as he does every New Year, at Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, Florida.
But this year, with the host also serving as US president, he faces questions over the conflation of his business interests and his official responsibilities.
At $600 for dues-paying members and $750 for their guests, ticket prices are up from last year, when, as president-elect, Trump charged $525 for members and $575 for guests.

(5,730 posts)by bankrupting out his creditors and not paying his indigent workers.
You can't qualify for many things if you have done a bankruptcy. Yet, this thief did 4, 6 , 7 bankruptcies, made lots of money, and talked up how rich he is to become Pres of the USA.
He makes the money and others lose theirs.
Alice11111
(5,730 posts)him. Also, American banks would not loan him money, so he had to do shifty deals with Duetche Bank, the Ukrainians and the Russians.
Yet, this 50s setting shows the smoozers rubbing elbows.

(4,159 posts)And that was doubled from $100,000 immediately after Trump became President of the Confederacy (which is essentially what he is - nobody lives in the Western states that voted for him).

Think of all of the shit Trump gave the Clintons about their CHARITABLE foundation.
The hypocrisy is mind blowing. That is who these people are though.

(4,159 posts)That it would be the last night on that Sunday evening that they all went to dinner. It was just another night. We get a sense of foreboding from the movies about the event because we all know what happened, but the actual participants were just thinking about what they were going to do the next day, most likely.
