The psychiatrist who briefed Congress on Trumps mental state: this is an emergencyThe case for evaluating the presidents mental capacity by force if necessary.
By Eliza Barclay vox.com Jan 5, 2018, 10:10am EST
The longer Donald Trump is in office, the more he shocks and alarms us with his strange and extremely unpresidential behavior.
From the incoherent, fallacious interview he gave the New York Times on December 28 to Tuesdays tweet about his nuclear button to his smearing of Steve Bannon, the incendiary remarks keep getting more menacing and portentous of disaster. As Voxs Ezra Klein recently wrote, The president of the United States is not well.
But how unwell is he, really? Could the behavior be caused by some illness eating away at his mental capacity, or is it just bad behavior?
This is a question of crucial importance, not just because the vice president and the Cabinet (or Congress) would need certainty about his mental incompetence to invoke the 25th Amendment and declare him unable to do his job an option that, while still highly unlikely to be used, is now regularly being discussed.

(28,270 posts)to get rid of Donny Bonespurs before they face a devastating wipe out by the blue tsunami headed their way in the 2018 elections.
They could force him out or bribe him out , though the asking price would be tens of millions I bet.

(1,202 posts).....or they could face another Nixonesque humiliation. They never ever got over the Nixon blundercuss and it's taint on the party...But to have two of those types of very public corruption issues? Well, that would be too delicious for the the DEMS. Are they willing to do that again?

(19,986 posts)because the establishment won't want that disgrace brought upon the United States of America. It won't stop them from trying it on with a disturbed Trump.

(24,368 posts)what is happening now will happen again. We are where we are at now because Nixon and the Bushes never went to jail. There must be consequences for what Trump and his crew are doing. To dig up an old battle cry, "The whole world is watching". Anyone who does not vote for his impeachment and removal from office is complicit.

(22,205 posts)seriously get real and do something, before something really bad happens...e.g., if North Korea or other 'hot spot' attacks because of tRUMP's ignorant statements, then the republican party and tRUMP's cabinet should be held forever in contempt by the American people in failing to protect us...
The republicans should be banned forever from running for any kind of office and made an illegal political party and all who were in tRUMP's cabinet and the Senate who enabled tRUMP should be convicted of war crimes against humanity and thrown in prison.
I know that this is rather harsh, but if you are like me, I've never felt so insecure as I do now w/ world affairs...

a few months ago. It is a complex process and it probably will be easier and faster to get the Dems in office in the midterms and impeach him. Here's the article.

Yes but that is not the only danger were facing. Theres everything in between: provoking our allies and alienating them, instigating civil conflict, and laying a foundation for a violent culture that could give way to epidemics of violence not to mention poke a beehive in the Middle East by declaring Jerusalem as Israels capital. All of these actions are consistent with the pathological pattern he has already shown of resorting to violence the more he feels threatened.
And it is no accident that gun deaths are up at least 12 percent since 2016, and there is an increase in schoolyard bullying and an unprecedented spike in hate crimes that continue to this day.
