https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-tower-fire-new-york-city/ETA - Manhattan Borough Fire Chief had a presser ~8:20 am ET that said that the fire was contained to unoccupied floors near the cooling towers. They think it may have been due to the electrical boxes that handle the heaters for the cooling towers (AC) to keep that water from freezing. No evacuations. Elevators responded as expected to get them close. There was one injury - a firefighter.
~8:50 am ET - Streets are reopened around the tower.

I see very little "mean stuff".

(30,481 posts)That's it.
"As a retired firefighter, let the fucker burn is mean."
Some retired firefighters disagree. Including a number of them living out their "retirement" in prison.
Good job being civil. I was just pointing out the error in the thought that all firefighters are good people and that almost no one had made a "mean" comment before you posted about mean comments. My neighbor is a firefighter. He is truly mean. lol. That's being civil.

(25,586 posts)I was helping install a satellite dish (the big ones, back in the old days) on a high building in Los Angeles and one of our guys sat on the edge of the building with his legs dangling. Just seeing him do that freaked me out so badly I couldnt breathe.

(6,402 posts)It's one of the reasons I gave up flying ages ago. Lack of control being the other part. It's just a built in fear that I've been unable to overcome (and have no desire to).

(7,596 posts)That being said, it wouldn't bother me the slightest bit if that tacky, ugly-ass monument to evil burned to the fucking ground.
