Its been a busy morning on Fox Business Network, with host Stuart Varney lauding President Donald Trump for his handling of immigration, de-regulation, and of course, the economy as a whole. During the 10:00 a.m. ET hour, Varney invited Trump surrogate Steve Cortes on to discuss whether Oprah Winfrey would prove to be a challenge for the incumbent president in 2020, should she run.
Cortes said it would ultimately depend on Winfreys stance on the issues with Varney pointing out earlier in the hour that each of Trumps policy positions were carefully laid out at the beginning of his candidacy, something the talk show host would need to replicate.
I dont know what Oprah believes, Cortes said. I do know this, that she lives in a world of absolute media adoration and I think that would change very quickly after getting in the business of politics.
After deriding the Democratic bench as being filled with tired, old Washington swamp rats, the Trump surrogate finally announced that Winfrey would ultimately be eclipsed by the presidents many successes.
If Donald Trump has three more years like the year he just had of amazing successes, Cortes said, with a twinkle in his eye, he can run against a combined ticket of Jesus and the Virgin Mary and he will still win in 2020.

(7,888 posts)It's obvious rumpublicans fear the woman's star power and excellent reputation. Her first step, if she decides to go for it, would be to get an unbiased background check and extreme vetting. Tim Kaine would be my initial suggestion as a running mate. He has been vetted and could fulfill the duties of office.
Of course, as Senator Sanders learned, the DNC and party leadership will probably tip the scales for the candidate they support. Hopefully, someone will understand that it appears winning will be the only criteria if rump is not impeached, resigns or dies.
