He backed off, in shock over Comey's actions, not understanding why FBI would interfere right before election which hurt Clinton while refusing to answer inquiries as to whether Trump campaign was even being investigated.

Steele and Simpson were also shocked and dismayed by the NY Times article right before election that claimed FBI source had informed NT Times they had seen no Trump / Russia ties.

Other shocker to me is that Steele and Simpson informed numerous mainstream media of their concerns before election, yet none of the media seriously covered the Trump/Russia stuff.
