It's time to take a united stand and demand a stop to this childish name calling by Donald Trump.
Today in his latest display of lack of decorum called Diane Feinstein "Sneaky Diane"
I am sick of these "leaders" standing quietly on the sidelines while Trump continues to show complete and utter disrespect for members of this party. They should tell him nothing will be acted on in the halls of congress until he ceases his personal insults and attacks on Democrats.
It is way past time for Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to bring this to a head.

(40,169 posts)you know, with cameras and all, demanding that he stop insulting members of our party. Stand up to this goddamned bully. If they remain silent it means they aren't bothered by it.
What ever became of decorum and civility?

(42,862 posts)A more rational explanation would be that they're smart enough to know better than to "reward" Trump with the type of indignant reaction he desires. It tells me that they aren't taking his bait and they aren't letting his insults be a source of distraction.

(40,169 posts)it is demanding to be treated with the courtesy and respect that should come with the office and title.
That is not showboating. What DJT does is showboating.

(42,862 posts)A press-conference on the steps of the Capitol Building is the literal definition of grandstanding! Look it up! The thing you describe would be a manufactured event that was solely designed to "seek to attract applause or favorable attention from spectators or the media."
Also, it serves no good purpose to reward Trump with publicly orchestrated "events" to demonstrate outrage and indignation. Trump would just EAT IT UP and love the attention. It would encourage him to do it even more just so that he could get more attention and bigger reactions.
Besides that... it would be a complete waste of time for our Democratic leaders to publicly wring their hands, or weep, or angrily stomp their feet, or pound the podium as they "demand to be treated with courtesy and respect". It might make you, personally, feel good... but it would have no real effect and it would be wasted effort and wasted time.
I think it's a mistake for anyone to characterize our Democratic leaders as "do-nothings" or to coyly suggest that they don't care, or that they're lazy, or that they're afraid, or that they're confused and at a loss for what to do.

(1,202 posts)you really think Trump will give a flying rat's arse that the Dems tell him to stop calling people names?
Frankly I think the name calling works with his ignorant 30% crowd. The rest are appalled at the lack of decorum and the degredation of the office of POTUS. I say let his continue and prove he is unable to ever act Presidential.

(31,137 posts)the entire media, or ANY of that matter, shows up.
They dont, there has to be a good reason or a reason that the media will see as a money maker, like covering anything the traitor did in 2016 because he was like watching a circus.
