Marco Rubio's Florida has highest concentration of Haitians in US.

But he has no public comment on Trump's slur. His silence suggests approval.

Sen. Marco Rubio, who lives Miami-Dade County — home to one of the nation's largest concentrations of Haitian Americans — could not be reached for comment. After Trump’s comments were first reported by the Washington Post and then other media outlets, Rubio discussed immigration on his Twitter feed but did not address Trump’s comments.

I can tell you many Haitians are employed in these facilities. They are hard-working and dedicated doing difficult and thankless jobs.

the memory units, where people with dementia and alzeimer's stay.....well Donny boy you are going to end up there.....

often include many Somali healthcare workers. My experience with them has been that they were kinder, more patient and harder workers than many of of the other workers. My late mother-in-law was a resident in more than one such facility, so I got to observe a range of workers in that field.

We have a community college near where I live that has a program for our Somali and other African immigrants that simultaneously teaches the English language and prepares students for certification as CNAs. It's very popular and is a source of workers in that hard-to-staff job category.

He's a self-serving little weasel. Not only are there a lot of Hatians here but there a whole lot more Puerto Ricans here than there used to be. Their votes are in play and he can't afford to alienate them. I'm sure he's just hoping if he does nothing this will blow over knowing Twilter will find yet another new low tomorrow.
