There are people out there just drooling at the chance to give SNL and the like any kind of trouble they can.

I have no idea what Michaels' personal feelings about profanity are, but self-protection is a big thing.

In any event I don’t envy the person who has that job. Gotta be on your toes the entire show to make a split-second decision and like a football official there’s no upside, only hell to pay if you make a bad call.
