What people are hearing today after the physical

They're tweets, so some of you may not see them.

As I've said elsewhere, people are trying to say that "hey, we're just talking about him, what goes around comes around and it's more about his lying."

But it isn't. Because it's been a regular thing around these parts forever in how easy it is for people in general to fat shame, often because it's a Republican or someone has done something disturbing. And that becomes an easy target.

Yeah, some folks aren't going to take the high road. I get that. But keep in mind that you're leaving a whole lot of collateral damage in your wake to take a shot at someone who won't even see what you're saying.

If you can do the Twitter thing, look at the responses in that thread that she's getting. It'll be the same as what a lot of people here will say and have been saying. And look at the harm it causes.

Good luck with the thread. I tried this once before and got chewed to bits (in re: Chris Christie). If you're fat, then that's the first thing that people who hate you will attack.

But it's an area where I have to at least say something. It may get through to a couple of people and that's how things change.

I just don't think it's the same thing as pointing at pictures of him playing tennis and laughing. And the whole thing is in context of him lying about all the other stuff, too. This all comes across as Trump defending when it's obvious what's going on.

I have been overweight since middle age, and I don't mind it at all. Donald of Orange has a double standard. If he is going to fat shame women, he can take it himself.

And he is vain and having the doctor lie about it. We can see that. He is shameless.

so, I relate to this person's comments in a very personal, painful way thinking about the cruelty of childhood and teen years.

While I have been on the "ridicule" end of the issue, I've not been on the active side of ridiculing others...I know the pain, so why would I inflict it?

That said, I need to be contrarian on this one and play a little devil's advocacy. I find there is a similarity between those who have fat-shamed/humiliated others all their lives, only to have the karmic finger pointed back at some stage in their lives and perhaps those who have lived a life of hate--perhaps homophobia, only to have their previously closeted lives exposed very publicly. Or perhaps the person who has been viciously white supremacist and racist throughout life, only to have their own mixed heritage brought to life at some point. There are other examples, but I think the point is made.

I'm not saying it is "right"--just that it is different. Right now, this seems more targeted at Trump's constant and unrelenting lying and bullying than it is about his weight.

We've agreed on quite a few issues here. This particular one is no different, except for the context of "fat shaming" a particular individual who has spent decades being superficial and making women feel inferior if they don't sport supermodel looks.

What I'm trying to say is of course Claire Willett is right, there isn't any excuse for saying, or insinuating, that "fat people are gross and bad." But most people who are overweight don't go around insulting and demeaning others for being less than a "perfect 10."

Donny does that, and always has, it seems. So I find it impossible to look at him and not think, "You only value gorgeous and physically fit women -- and expect them to comply with all your disgusting sexual harassment -- and yet you look like that???

Get real, Donny! The double standard he sets is outrageous.

And the reason he lies about his weight is that he is a fat-shamer who can't face his own hypocrisy.

While some are couching their jokes in saying that it's about his lying, a whole lot - including a number in this forum - are just making plain fat shaming jokes and coming up with convenient excuses why it's ok.

So have at it.

I can't believe how much attention DU is giving to something that means NOTHING in real matters. JMO, but in my view, it lowers us to the standards of that "other" site.
