Joe Scarborough has just gone apeshit on Morning Joe

Joe has gone on a screed claiming that Putin has something horrific that he is hanging over Trump's head.

Joe also says it is all going to come out and that the American people are going to be horrified.

He is calling out Trump as a dictator, stopping short of comparing him to Hitler and Stalin.

The news media knows what is coming. I think they are holding back in deference to Mueller.

It is a known fact that what gets out into the public is a fraction of what journalist and reporters actually know. They are just waiting.

You knew who trump was, better than most, and so did "I must be smart because my daddy was" Mika. You knew that he would rot even the GOP standards, and that he was willing to appeal to the very very worst of the base, the sort that would gladly bring back lynchings. However, The 2016 elections was a gold mine, especially as all you had to do was pick the low hanging fruit of Hillary hate. Maybe you were too stupid to realize how bad the cancer would get, but frankly, after seeing W. you should not have. Now, now that weknow that Trump will finally drag this nation down, to the cheers of Moscow and Beijing and who knows who else, now you are trying to save your soul, right as Lucifer comes around the bend ready to throw you into the low low pits reserved for liars and con men.

I think their crime was not taking Trump's candidacy seriously. They thought he would lose and go away. I think this is how the media let us all down, they didn't do their job. They treated Trump's campaign like a sideshow. It was disgraceful. That said, I don't believe anyone imagined what we now know to be true.

I think it is important to give credit when it is due. Joe left the republican party and has become a voice of reason. Will he always be a conservative? Yes. Is he an evil person? No. I believe in second chances.

29. Here's a good Huffpost article on how much aid Joe and Mika lent to Trumpy:
Fri Jan 19, 2018, 09:11 AM
Jan 2018

From Huffpost back in July:

In late 2015 and 2016, when Trump’s campaign was gaining momentum, they (Joe and Mika) defended him against his critics and offered him advice. For example, at an event at the 92nd Street Y in New York in November 2015, Scarborough proudly recounted how he frequently called Trump to offer political guidance. Returning the bromance favor, in January 2016 Trump talked about Scarborough with Boston talk radio host Howie Carr. “He’s a great guy, and he has a great show ... and we have a lot of fun,” Trump said. After Trump won the New Hampshire primary in February 2016, Trump appeared on “Morning Joe” and told the co-hosts: “You guys have been supporters, and I really appreciate it.”

A few days later, CNN reported that MSNBC officials were concerned about “Scarborough’s friendship with Trump and his increasingly favorable coverage of the candidate.” According to CNN, MSNBC insiders called Scarborough’s admiration for Trump “over the top” and “unseemly.” The Washington Post observed that Trump received “a tremendous degree of warmth from the show,” and that his appearances on the show, in person and over the phone, often felt like “a cozy social club.”

That coziness was caught on tape during an MSNBC town hall with Trump in New York that Scarborough and Brzezinski hosted in February 2016. An unaired clip of banter between Brzezinski and Trump in-between segments revealed the two of them colluding about what questions she’d ask him. “Nothing too hard, Mika,” Trump says. “OK,” she responded.

Even after Trump’s most disgusting and troublesome traits were revealed to the entire country throughout the campaign – his abuse of women, his attacks on Latinos, immigrants, Muslims, and people with disabilities, his profound ignorance of basic issues and government policy, and the corruption and scandals surrounding Trump University and the Trump foundation – Scarborough (and to a lesser extent Brzezinski) continued to lend Trump their support.

“The variety of candidates is a positive here, and many of the lesser known can serve as a cudgel to move the more established candidates further to the right. In this scenario, we don’t want to marginalize the more extreme candidates, but make them more ‘Pied Piper’ candidates who actually represent the mainstream of the Republican Party,” read the memo.

“Pied Piper candidates include, but aren’t limited to:
• Ted Cruz
Donald Trump
• Ben Carson
We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to [take] them seriously."

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-2016-donald-trump-214428

Promoting him was literally out of the campaign’s playbook. Both the campaign and Joe “Asshole” Scarborough did it for the same motivation: ratings.

For the record, I did NOT call out Clinton. If you read the article I linked to, it says staffer Mook was the one who was too late in recognizing Trump as a viable threat. The book Shattered adds a lot more detail about Mook’s various failings. He, in my own often-stupid opinion, is more responsible for “President” Trump than just about anyone, including Morning Asshole and Vladimir Putin.

That rant aside: Joe is the most fair-weathered friend on cable TV. He’ll say whatever is necessary to keep his job and ratings. I’m in total agreement that he’s a piece of shit.

I hate hypocrisy and flip-flopping as much as everyone.

But these sanctimonious purity tests are the same mindset that got W Bush elected as purists voted for Ralph Nader, bringing on 4 years of awe inspiring GOP destruction. Meanwhile, that green party for all purposes functioned as a GOP plant party, in effecting that outcome.

Similarly, Trump would hug you for this post. Its so delightfully pro-Trump in its vitriol against an important anti-Trump media spokesperson.

Right now, there's no more vocal opponent to Trump in mass media than Morning Joe.

I watch it daily, because he's outspoken, passionate, and aggressively anti-Trump, and since he was formerly a Trump friend and Republican, his voice has more credibility to the viewer. If he's doing it for ratings only, which I don't believe, I don't care. I want Trump gone.

The same applies to Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson, David Frum, George Will, and the rest of what I'd formerly call GOP hacks. In my opinion, Trump passed certain moral/political boundaries that are unacceptable to them.

I respect that evolution, and welcome their help in bringing down this existential threat to democracy, especially because there's plenty of Trump loyalists like Rush Limbaugh and Hannity who haven't,

The Russian tape they most assuredly have will for sure be Sick Don with minors. They got the girls for him with the intention of filming it so they could blackmail him, zero chance they didn't find a couple 13 year old prostitutes who looked 17 for Sick Don. Most Russian prostitutes are teenagers anyway, but if they really were trying to get the goods on Don they made sure these girls were as young as possible.

These girls are probably either dead because Putin had them killed for Don, or they're being hidden somewhere to have further leverage over Donald. Imagine they interview these girls and they say they were 11 or 12 at the time. Does anyone think Sick Don was checking IDs?

Trump is a sick deviant, his previous sex assaults and harassment show a pattern of needing to dominate women to feel powerful. It's entirely possible they told him before hand he could kill the girl(s) if he wanted to.

And it's all on tape.

I've been saying from the get go, if the tape were just a pee pee tape Trump wouldn't care and most of his voters wouldn't either. It is more than just that, at a minimum it's Trump acting submissive and begging for his mommy or something humiliating like that. Most likely it's very young girls. And worse case it's murder.

Anybody know where and when I might find video of this morning's show? I missed it and won't be able to catch a repeat. I'm not a huge fan, but this sounds like it's worth watching.

If you go to MSNBC.com and click on Watch, there is a drop down menu of the shows. You will probably be able to watch the video.

For anyone interested in seeing this segment without having to watch the whole show, the time on the clock in the lower right corner of the video reads about 3:24 PT when this discussion begins and about 3:42 PT when it ends. I used this instead of the counter on the video because it seemed more reliable (I'm on my phone).

They usually make segments from all of their shows available. Look under their "WATCH" menu.

Enjoy!

It's all about the ratings to Joe and Mika. There's no journalistic integrity there. It's not even journalism. Just entertainment.

Just because he claims to hate Trump now -- despite all of the work he and Mika did to help get him elected -- doesn't sway me. Joe is still complete scum.

That whole party knows what Putin has and they used it too. Throw them out of power and never let them back in.

Oh, and this is more than a pee pee tape. Trump might even survive it if it weee just that. The girls on it are way under aged. That is a certainty.

supporting him. The destruction of america as we knew it has been well underway now for a year. and the damage may go so far as it will take decades to correct. The appointment of radical rightwing judges takes years to overcome.....

this is the result of those who chose not to vote or voted for Stein....the "lesser of 2 evils" bullshit. So now we got great evil. Its not russias fault, not Koch brothers fault,,its the fault of those who knew better and did what they did knowing what would happen.

We have no choice but to take back our country and end the bickering in out ranks or we all deserve what is still to come. PERIOD.

Morning Joe contributed to trump's rise but it was voters who would not support Hillary that gave him the whitehouse

He and Mika keep trying to convince us that they started warning us years ago about him. Of course whatever "warning" they gave was completely drowned out in their fawning coverage, daily call-in interviews and trash-talking Hillary, so it's likely no one noticed.

Trump can't be ridden out of office soon enough. He's already done untold damage, just with his executive orders and appointments, and the Republicans in Congress passing this tax cut for rich people? That's gonna hurt this country badly in the near term - I'm looking for a recession.

These people don't want to govern, just to destroy, and I'm fucking so sick of that. I can live with differences in opinion, and with compromise.
