Jan 22, 2018 --- The man who predicted that Donald Trump would win the presidency, now predicts that he will be impeached. Historian Allan Lichtman and Joy Reid discuss how he believes Robert Muellers Russia probe bears the seeds.

(51,660 posts)We must knock on doors, make calls and donate as well as encourage women, young people and minorities to run. We can't expect an impeachment until 2020 unless this happens first.
I predicted the fucking moron would win the second he was on that escalator (I wished it took him down to Hell) and so did Bill Maher and Michael Moore. I have common sense and no crystal ball or degree in Poli Sci.

(889 posts)I'm not a wealthy person, but if I were I'd bet on these three things:
1. The Democrats will take the House in 2018.
2. The House will impeach Trump in 2019.
3. The Senate will not vote to convict. Trump will remain president.

(10,853 posts)The Stockmarket speeding like a rocket and the Trumpster just opened the gates to a trade war.
Because, of course, he did.
Imported solar panels and washing machines are the starting salvo. Who needs those rotten solar panes anyway because there's always King Coal and Oil to exploit and muck up our land resources. Who needs National Parks and tourism? America First! And Washing Machines? Who needs clean clothes?? Kiss those Samsung & LG units goodbye because Westinghouse has been having a sad. And the foreign factories to build those machines in South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee? Kiss them good-bye, too, because a 20-50% tariff will make them utterly unaffordable and useless.
Yeah, he's good with the economy. So good, he's decided to bring it down around our ears.
And the hilarious part? The very people who voted for this arrogant, selfish ignoramus will lose their jobs and livelihoods. Like a meteor strike. Whoosh. All gone.
Frigging unbelievable!

(35,454 posts)stock market and unemployment and give him credit if it holds up until November. Obama inherited the great recession
and brought us back from the brink. I think as of now this has been the longest bull market in history and Obama got zero credit.
I think Democrats did a poor job of highlighting their accomplishments.

(10,853 posts)the money phrase. I absolutely agree: the Trumpster has taken credit for the economy that President Obama struggled to put back together after the Bush/Cheney debacle--war on credit card, housing deep-dive and banking malfeasance.
I read this tariff thing last night and could barely believe it. Just what we don't need--a trade war.
As for 2018? I'm holding onto those generic numbers and the wealth of qualified Dem candidates. We were given a shot in the arm with the Virginia and Alabama wins. The energy is there and was exhibited once again in the marches over the weekend. For all the structural problems, I think the House is doable in November.
We shall see

(3,827 posts)BARNARDSVILLE In the heart of Buncombe County's Trump country, people who supported Donald Trump in 2016 say they are still on his side one year into his presidency, even if some of them wish he would tone down his inflammatory remarks.
"The stock market's up. Unemployment's down. It's wonderful," said Jerry Jones, who credits Trump with the improving national economy. "You see 'help wanted' signs everywhere."
Polls say Trump's approval rating nationally is at historically low levels. The Real Clear Politics average of leading national polls said Monday that 39.7 percent of Americans polled approve of the job Trump is doing and 55.5 percent disapprove.
That's a significant decline from just after Trump took office in January 2017, when people were almost equally divided between support and opposition.

(17,984 posts)and I predict something will happen with tRump within the next three years! Probably keel over from a heart attack while having sex with Sandy Beaches (or some porn star name) after besting his own record by eating five Big Macs. The casket will need to be specially made because by that time he will be well over seven feet tall but only weigh 150 lbs.
