IMO, Unless we take a lesson from DT45 and introduce new a idea we will change nothing. UBI has to

be become part of 1918 and 2020.

UBI is a concept that calls for providing what automation will not provide for midlife workers without any university papers.

The idea is to provide a living wage, provide activities like tools and places to develop hobbies, and prevent society from killing each other.

My personal plan is to take advantage of SocSec and reduce it to 40yrs and and include medicare for those who are victims of automation.

I know the idea is scary but it has to be introduced.

We see clearly what has to happen for society to survive and become
an advanced civilization. But humans are relatively primitive right now.
Not sure how long it will take them to catch up to the world we see.
But yes it starts with introducing the ideas.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

7. Yes, a major paradigm shift entails some preparation.

If humans are going to survive and become an advanced people
we are going to have to have a major change.

America is fairly backward compared to other modern countries.
We are violent, racist, with corrupt and incompetent leadership.
College, health care, retirement are out of reach for many.

Europe and Scandinavia will most likely make the shift easier.

4. To further elaborate on your plan:

I see a society proving a basic income.
This planet has more than enough resources for all to have the basics.
Food, shelter, clothing.

If people wish to earn more, they can do that.

People would not just have hobbies, but would free to pursue
an education, to volunteer, to create, to work.

Right now it is hard for us to understand how it would play out.
Humans have always been fighting hard to just survive.
And it is dog eat dog.

If we shift the paradigm beyond survival it is quite new to us.

6. UBI: where does the money come from?

Where does the government get the money to pay universal basic income to everyone? I've never understood that part.
