Normally in a special counsel investigation, the investigator would Finnish with all aspects of the matter, connecting all of the dots, before disseminating the final report. In this instance there is a situation where some of the information gathered could have grave implications for national security. It could be the case that the President of the United States has conspired with an unfriendly country to affect the outcome of the 2016 election, and that he continues to be compromised by that country. It is also evident that there is a furious ongoing attempt to discredit the FBI, Robert Mueller and thus the investigation by a consortium of right wing news sources and Republican politicians. It raises the possibility that Mueller could issue a partial report, centering on conspiracy and obstruction of justice, while still working on the financial crimes such as money laundering and tax evasion.
It has come to be revealed today that Mueller has interviewed Jeff Sessions, and that he inquiring to question the president, which might indicate that he is coming to and end of at least part of the investigation.

(22,069 posts)He has run a tight ship with very little leakage. In fact, what little we've learned was probably leaked by witnesses.
Are you worried about the investigation?

(3,608 posts)out loaves. So I think a lot of the corruption is not hard to find. Second I do feel he does have to keep it moving because we are UNDER ATTACK and possibly infiltrated...so we need to rout that out ASAP obvi.
Does anyone know if Muller is more heavily staffed that past special council's? All I know is this guy didn't hire a bunch of experts in every financial crime for nothing. Read all the tea leaves and there is only ONE CONCLUSION...which we are rushing and bounding towards. I just read Muller wants to interview trashbag soon!!! OmG OmG !!!

(58,785 posts)Yes, he runs a very tight ship. But information IS power, and reportedly he leaks information bombs via ex- government people who know just how to do it when he decides GOP advances need knocking back.
As I've wondered before, the GOP must cringe wondering what's likely to explode on them next, but seemingly desperation doesn't allow them to just crawl under rocks and hope it'll all go away.
