Hers seems to be a lasting thing. Could be a "lazy eye" I suppose but it could be something else.

My face never came back right, especially the eye. I had a face for radio before that. Now I'd kill to look like that again. Life is funny.

As I try and wrap my mind around the thought of someone poking around my eyeball with sharp instruments during upcoming cataract surgery, now I have to possibly duct tape my eye lid shut!

Nobody but NOBODY could possibly be more afraid of having anything touching their eyeball than I am. I couldn't even put eye drops in my eyes!
I tried contact lenses.. ONCE. and just freaked out !!!

So. That said. cataract surgery is nothing.. a piece of cake.

My experience was this-- Being prepped- a nurse put some 'numbing drops' in the eye that was going to have the surgery )I did both eyes, a couple weeks apart.) And a small IV was put in my arm for the anestheeeseeologist.

So I was wheeled into the 'operating room.' This was a small local but very good hospital.
They put some type of inverted lampshade' over my face-- like that thing the dentist puts over your mouth-- simple... Head was GENTLY strapped to the table...almost un-noticable.

Anesteegoilgist guy comes in ( I knew him from when I had a cancerous tumor operated on several years before-- but I digress LOL)

I guess he started the juice flowing cause next thing I knew the opthamoloiggister said 'Don't move." Oh right !! Sure. I'm going to sneeze just when you start...It was, of course a joke. I HOPE it was a joke. Couldn't see anything except frosty white, then a multi-colored kalaidascope.

That was it. You will not see or feel a thing. Took the doc all but maybe 2 minutes.. He does about 15 every MOnday and Wed, !!!

After he checked me in the "recovery room" Rather the recovery hallway, I went home.

So chill....

Just hope you don;t get Bell's Palsy..
(Actually, when I noticed then next morning the right side of my face didn't move right. I though I might be having a stroke.!! So there is that to worry about also..

Went right to my PCP. He immediately ordered an MRI (Shit, not another one of those..I have a little claustrophobia and had 2 of those when the lymphoma was discovered in my back...

dribbling coffee down the front of me. I'm on cortisone & antivirals & doing facial exercises. It's been 2.5 weeks & my eye almost closes, but I still can't smile. It's so annoying.

But rather to some of the replies making fun of her physical appearance, which I think ought not to be what DU is about.

I just don't think DU should be about mocking anyone's physical appearance and/or attractiveness.

emanates from within. Honestly, her physical appearance on its own is not ugly or unattractive. Her “looks” are average, normal, everyday. Her “ugliness” comes from the hateful, haughty, arrogant mean-ness that fills her. Imagine that same face with an open, warm, genuine smile - she’d be attractive with her big dark eyes. My point is, we’re not really making fun of her looks, we’re making fun of the ugliness of her soul that twists her face into the mess that it is.

I certainly support people criticizing the ugliness you describe - just not her looks, which some of the responses to this thread clearly are doing.

She had the misfortune to inherit her father's body-type and propensity to weight gain. She's plain of face. Her wardrobe choices are startlingly unflattering. None of that is worth commenting on.

I have known, admired, and loved as friends many such "plain" women, whose inner light and intelligence and kindness shine through. Their smiles are open and genuine. They look beautiful because they really are. I count myself lucky to have them as friends.

But Sarah Huckabee Sanders? She lies. Her words drip with contempt. She contorts her face to show her anger and contempt. I know she has kids -- what a scary mommy she must be. She has made herself ugly.

Not everyone has a “symmetrical” face. There is a lot to criticize her for. Facial asymmetry is not one of those things. She can not help it.
