(2,001 posts)3. Well, Parts of Joes speech were quite good ALTHOUGH it appeared he was drooling, just distracting..
Just calling it the way I saw it, Wish it wasn't so but it was.

(33,013 posts)10. I was focused on his words not his lip balm.
I want to know what Dems are going to do for people. I dont care about their hair or make up or clothes or lip balm...

(36,920 posts)2. Yes. I think that is one of the reasons for the applause...
after one or two sentences (which he encouraged bigly).

(47,770 posts)5. I didn't watch the speech,
but in the clips it did seem like he was slurring his words. That could be why he was talking so slowly, to maintain control.

(5,815 posts)9. Yes. But only from start to finish.
He took sips from his water from time to time. I dont recall that he took it in massive gulps. He looked and sounded at times like his mouth was as dry as sawdust. He enunciated some words in an exaggerated way while slurring past others. Maybe he had rehearsed some words that he thought he might trip over? I understand he did practice the speech several times. Seeing as how it was his first SOTU speech, he probably wanted to impress. I wont tell him the impression that I and many others had of him. 🤭
