Would waiting until Trump leaves office be the best way to insure he and everyone pays?

I am willing to wait for a crap load of marshmallows later rather than to just get one now. But the concern is how much damage would he do in the meantime that Pence wouldn't do? Probably not much especially if Dems take over congress. There is a thread that is suggesting Trump could be under sealed indictment to take him down after he leaves office. If true this is checkmate but it requires patience:

No chance. It might physically survive. But it wouldn’t be a place where any reasonable human would want to live. The really scary thing is I don’t think we’ve even begun to scratch the surface on how ugly he can make things both by using is deplorables as modern day brown shirts and policy wise.
