that he will be dragged out kicking and screaming by a swat team.
I believe that now.
I hope they bring a straight jacket as well.
that would be such a beautiful image...forever.

That vision is what gets me up in the morning. After all we've been through in watching the destruction of the U.S., I think we deserve
to witness him being evicted by a SWAT team with the rest of that bunch following as a chain gang.
Don't tease.

(6,412 posts)...if impeached, that means he is no longer President. The Secret Service is tasked with protecting the President, so whoever is sworn in next, is their next job.

Impeachment is only the first step in removing an elected official from office. Kind of a slap on the wrist, really. Bill Clinton was impeached but served out the rest of his term*. Nixon resigned rather then face impeachment. Im not really sure what impeaching tRump would accomplish, but (as the old joke about what do you call 10,000 lawyers at the bottom of the Hudson River goes), its a good first step.
*<on edit>He served out the rest of his term after he was acquitted on the 2 charges he was impeached for. If he had been found guilty he would have immediately been removed from office.

(32,917 posts)After the hearing, where he and other witnesses testify just like in a jury trial, there will be a vote among the entire Senate. If 2/3 of the Senate (67 Senators) find him guilty, then he's convicted and removed from office. Anything less than 2/3 majority, and he's still in office until the end of his term. If he is convicted, the Vice President will be immediately sworn in as the new President.

To "free us and him from the distraction" so he can "get back to his work".
Then he will hide behind the lawyers for a while.
Eventually he will enjoy a Hefner demise, tottering about the corners of a dusty mansion, a relic of a bygone era.
