If you can't get to a TV or you're outside Australia, you can watch Trump/Russia live now on Facebook: https://bit.ly/2FLIMQ2 #4Corners
Some posts about this coverage:
@4corners has obtained evidence of a quid quo pro by Carter Page delivered to Trump that if sanctions were lifted , there would be a significant kickback from Rosneft sale. Fuck me , our journalists are destroying him. Carter looks shellshocked @4corners had the info on him😱😂😂

Edited to say that I don't see anything new, but I've followed Trump/Russia closely. For the average American who doesn't have time or hasn't taken the time to do a lot of reading, this is fantastic. I wish the American news media would pump these stories out to make it easier to understand and follow.

(3,344 posts)Is this just repeating the coverage we already know, or do they have actual new evidence?

(16,420 posts)so I can't answer yet.
What I can say is that it's put together in a way the American public would understand. Why is the US media not doing this? Why aren't they putting pieces like this together?

(7,306 posts)Rosneft. It's why Carter Page is involved. It's why Shitgibbon ran. It's why Tillerson was named SoS.
I have been waiting impatiently for this. It's not new but most people are unaware of it.
People have been wondering what Putin has on Shitgibbon. It's a tape but not a peep tape. It's a tape that Carter Page delivered to Putin with Shitgibbon agreeing to help Putin get the sanctions lifted in exchange for 5 percent of Rosneft (Page gets a fee too, .5 percent I think).
I haven't watched this broadcast yet but I sure will as soon as I can.

NOTHING gets built in Russia without Putin's blessing.
It could be that BFF Pootie told Donny, "Lift the unfair sanctions and then we'll talk about your building permits."

(16,379 posts)Instead of the bumbling youthful clown we've seen, he came off as much more emotionally mature, older, and pretty competent. I'm not suggesting which of these contrasting characteristics is the real Carter Page But for the first time, I could believe he could possibly function as an intelligence asset.
Takeaways
At the time, I didn't pick up on the fact that Orangeanus named ONLY Page and Papadopoulos as his foreign policy advisors in his first big foreign policy interview with the WaPo. That's certainly interesting. At the tims, nobody had ever heard of either of them. The eventual head of foreign policy for the campaign implied he didnt know who hired them. So who who but then in? Manafort? Sessions? Flynn? Bannon?
Also, Popadop's encounter with "the professor" in London was orchestrated by his wife who worked at a dubious sounding international legal organization run by the same prof. Interesting that she said she didn't get paid for her work, since her then fiancee wasn't making anything for his campaign work either. So who was paying their living expenses?

(3,515 posts)It's the only "thing" with enough value to possibly justify the risks the Trump crew have taken. And it is the one "thing" that Russians have a lot of and that could lose value if we really begin to take care of our environment -- the greatest threat to the whole lot of them.
I don't know about the tape part of your post. That is questionable but not yet out of the question.
Yes. Tillerson's appointment was one of the giveaways.

(4,552 posts)Rachel Maddow has talked about it, but no one else that I know of. We've known about this for how long now? Seems like a year (or more?) at least. I decided when I first learned of it that, yes, this is IT. When Rosneft is factored in, pieces start to fall into place.

(2,772 posts)The structure of the Rosneft deal had been reported in December 2016, early Jan. 2017. I clearly remember the disbelief and rage I felt when Tillerson was a nominee because at that point I figured he was in on it. Im not as certain of that now. Tillerson was at least a nod to Putin, though.

(21,290 posts)People were asking what happened to the US. Met several people from other ciuntries while in Rome when they asked us if we supported Twitler, hubby and I shouted loudly in unison hell no
I was embarrassed to say we were Americans and instead said we are from San Francisco.
One man said he was a crazy insane man and reminded him of a dictator. Another said they would not be traveling to the US on vacation until he was gone. I heard this several times in Frankfurt Germany also.

(22,651 posts)https://www.cnn.com/2017/11/02/politics/carter-page-testimony-russia-trip/index.html
During more than six hours of closed-door testimony, Page said that he informed Sessions about his coming July 2016 trip to Russia, which Page told CNN was unconnected to his campaign role. Page described the conversation to CNN after he finished talking to the House intelligence committee.
Sessions' discussion with Page will fuel further scrutiny about what the attorney general knew about connections between the Trump campaign and Russia and communications about Russia that he did not disclose despite a persistent line of questioning in three separate hearings this year
These fellows, Sessons, Page and the entire "Trump" campaign security team have a lot of explaining to do about their lies under oath.
