What can we deduce or conclude about the Republican Party, with their lack of reaction...?

...to Donald Trump?

George Soros has stated that he believes Donald Trump to be a threat to the world. One cannot govern with fear or from fear. We have seen examples, too numerous to mention, in the last 16 months.

Each and every time, they have been brushed aside by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party in general. They were nonchalant as McConnell let it be known that there would be nothing to come to the floor of the Senate to protect the Special Counsel in his investigation, as he saw no need for it.

Paul Ryan gave his blessing to Devin Nunes to dismantle the House Intel Committee and to create havoc within our Justice Department. It was all a game to him. He is so far in above his head, it is a wonder he hasn't drowned. The rest of the Party has more or less gone along with the ride.

What should we conclude about the Republican Party?

First of all, they are not equipped or qualified to lead this country. They are incapable of defending our country from any enemy, foreign or domestic. They do not have the ability to put partisanship aside and look at the facts. They believe, like Donald Trump, that everything that disagrees with them is "fake news". They, like their leader, are a threat to our national security.

Furthermore, we can conclude that they do not care about the welfare of the people of this country. Their idea of "welfare of the people" is protection of the wealthy class and little sympathy for anyone else. That would include children in need.

The Republican Party is exposed for all to see. It is not a pretty picture.

tax cuts
ending Trump care nee Obama care
controlling the press
loading the courts with conservatives...unqualified and incompetent but hey...
smaller gov't (gutting fed agencies)
increased militarism

in short modern American fascism

They have shown themselves more than willing to agree with Russia, so long as their leader says it is OK. For example, how can we forget their lack of outrage when their platform was changed at their convention to a more favorable position for Russia?

5. Republican politicians fall into four categories: ...

... (1) they agree with Trumps world view;

(2) they fear losing an election because the base will turn on them if they defy Trump;

(3) they are willing to sacrifice America’s standing in the world to implement their policy and enrich donors; and

(4) they are beholding to foreign interests like Russia because they have accepted bribes themselves.

I’m sure some are in more than just one camp, but they are ALL in at least one. It’s just that simple.

about it being a "golden age" for conservatism.

They agree wholeheartedly with that creature. They are also complicit in the whole thing.

They are incapable of looking beyond their own narrow self-interest and their personal hatreds to govern for the people at large.
