Meet Racist Republican Corey Stewart Who Just Won GOP Senate Primary & Could Be Virginia's Roy Moore

If any more evidence was needed that the Republican Party is completely unable to keep the rabidly racist forces within its ranks at bay, the nation received proof Tuesday night.

Corey Stewart, a far-right extremist, won the GOP primary on Tuesday and will face off against former vice presidential candidate and incumbent Sen. Tim Kaine in the 2018 midterm elections.

Stewart is known for his enthusiastic support for Confederate symbols and monuments. He has billed himself as a fierce opponent of immigrants, and his embraced shameless fear-mongering tactics about a "scourge" of illegal immigration. And he allied himself with Jason Kessler, the white supremacist who led the neo-Nazi marches in Charlottesville last summer, in which protester Heather Heyer was killed. (He has since distanced himself from Kessler.)

This is going to be an interesting election. Tim Kaine runs an election as if he is 3 points behind. He will not overlook or dismiss Corey Stewart. On the flip side I am waiting to see how my Republican friends who swear they didn't vote for Trump are going to deal with this. Corey Stewart was Trumps Virginia campaign manager until he was fired in the early fall of 2016. He is whole hog, balls deep for Trump. He will not tack to the center as most candidates do. We Virginians are going to have to get used to Trump coming to Virginia for campaign rallies with Corey. The Republican Party in Virgina brought this situation on themselves and now we have to hang it around thiervnecks like an anchor.
