what and how it happened in Germany under Hitler. Border agents are chosen for their desire to enforce every directive no matter how awful. They spend a lot of time being bored so they relish the opportunity to exercise their power. Any decent person would have quit rather than do this.

If they think they are doing the right thing they shouldn't mind being called out in the open.

Maybe most wouldn't care. But I bet their families would end up not liking it when friend's find out just exactly, "What does your dad do?"
