Trumpass obstructed justice by firing him. OK?? yES He did.
Still James Comey is a pompous, self righteous egomaniac as far as I am concerned.
My thoughts are is he thought Hillary was going to win and being the good republican he was/is he didnt want to catch flack from the guys on his team by not indicting an innocent woman and went out of his way to prove himself and to continue to ingratiate himself with the guys he knew would be in charge on Capitol Hill.
He is not a good guy.

Lets keep DU somewhat fact-based. I understand your frustration with Comey.

And then Chaffetz resigned to avoid a House Ethics investigation. We need a law empowering House Ethics to take criminal action if House members leave office.

They FBI was aware of the data for over 2 months. There is no such thing as coincidences

(8,139 posts)and our democracy be damned.
He'd rather turn the nation over to someone he suspected or perhaps even knew was compromised by or in collusion with Putin, rather than risk taking heat for doing his job the way it should have been done.
It's ironic, and perhaps poetic justice, that the gangsters he helped into power have now turned on him.
But it does nothing to repair the damage already done and is likely to be done to millions of people.

he found out about the alleged "new emails" on Weiner's laptop in September of 2016 but withheld that info until late October, 11 days before the election.
He timed it just so to tilt the election to trump.
And I don't buy he was bullied by rogue NY field office agents working with Ghouliani. He was their fucking boss and could've/should've fired their insubordinate asses.
He knew exactly what he was doing, which is also why he didn't disclose he was also investigating trump.
Fuck him and his fake redemption book and campaign. He was a partisan hack determined to get a repug in the WH.
He did and is now trying to make amends for the orange debacle he helped stain our country with.

(51,675 posts)I made a list of the reasons that Hillary lost after the election (I still have it and my I VOTED sticker)and his name is on the top. If I hear one more time that she ran a faulty campaign I will puke. In her book she wrote that IT IS HIS FAULT and she is correct!

The right wing propaganda machine is the ONLY reason people believe lies like that.
The fault lies mainly with the propagandists like Murdoch, Hannity, Mercers, etc.
Without right wing propaganda media (for which there is no equivalent on the left) GOP Congress would be standing up against Trump and wed be rid of him.

(37,648 posts)No one, even Trump, thought Trump would win.
Altho he probably cost her some votes, the polls (12 out of 13) still showed right before the election that Hillary would win. Almost every single poll.
Who knows why Comey did either of those press conferences. But I've seen he's not adept at political wrangling. He got carried away or concerned he'd be blamed for something. Whatever it was, it was wrong, and the FBI says it was insubordination.
He's a straight arrow, dork kinda guy. He's not good at politics. He made a big mistake. I haven't seen anything to indicate that he had an ulterior motive. He screwed up big time.
He's not the cause of all the problems or Trump getting elected. I'm convinced of it. It was Russia. Russia used social media, and so did the Trump team, AND I'm convinced Russia manipulated the voting systems in several key districts in just 2 maybe 3 states. That's all it took.

Not exactly.
As for Rhodes, that loose cannon, didn't know she was still around. I didn't mind her acidic lobs at the right long ago. But if any of her current messages are encouraging you to accuse DU's overwhelmingly liberal Democrats of preferring right wing voices, you probably should carefully select those out before quoting her. Of course, DUers are going to object.
In fact, if the accusation didn't strike me as laughably stupid but usefully revealing of its poster, I'd object myself.
