He says, and I quote, "No way. I fought for this country. It was a bad war that shouldn't have happened, but my country called me and I did my duty and went. Now this piece of shit racist wants to be our dictator. Well, this is a war worth fighting and he's not taking over without a fight from me."
Well, I guess we're staying put.
Then, today he says "let's go to Denver for Pridefest tomorrow to show our support."
I said, who is this guy?

(2,621 posts)the other side has no respect for rule of law.
I'd like to see a Democrat restore what has been lost by fiat, because the legal way may take 50 years (assessment by former EPA employee who is scary smart). But as someone pointed out to me on another forum, that wouldn't be legal.
What a conundrum.

(41 posts)Had to go to the Denver County Court to pay a traffic ticket yesterday (ran a red light after it turned red). I could easily see the staging of the Pridefest. It looks terrific and i hope you enjoy it today. Stay cool as it is supposed to be another scorcher today. Thankfully well see mid 70s weather here starting Monday

(1,214 posts)He didn't see any combat, he was a technician in the Communications Service. His job was to ensure that critical communications systems were working, and to fix them if they weren't. His job, and that of his fellow Airmen, was to guarantee that the USAF could communicate globally. He served his country, not everyone does that by carrying a rifle. He has told me on numerous occasions that he did not take an oath to defend the Constitution only to see it shat upon by a moronic tyrant like Trump. When I tell him I want to leave, he says, stay and fight for your country.

(22,234 posts)Fight for this country? My answer is ...ABSOLUTELY yes, and I'll stand by you while we do it!!!
I will not give in to a petty personality like rump, or his cronies either. By some weird fluke they won the 2016 elections (I think w/ more Russian help than people are acknowledging), so I will never ack rump as president, NEVER!
I will never rest until this scum and those like him have been flushed down the toilet of history and things made right again.
