(12,487 posts)I am impressed...we need to have his back.
I mean, good for him, but there are all kinds of attorneys working on this. At least one Civil Rights group in Texas was interviewed on MSNBC about their involvement, and I'm pretty sure the ACLU has a group on this.

(34,141 posts)Most of the attorneys and groups working on this have spent all their time and money working for the benefit of their clients - as they should. Avenatti already has a public forum and is very good at using the media for his purposes so he can attack on a new front.
Jacob Soboroff is doing a great job reporting the facts, but Avenatti has an on camera presence that can help even more.

(62,444 posts)Since he's asking on Twitter if anyone knows of people in this situation, he's apparently unaware of the lawyers who are working on this.
But, unlike the legal groups who are engaged on this issue, Avenatti will bring a refreshing unfamiliarity with immigration law to the table for certain.

(1,474 posts)And Americans are horrified by NeoNazi GOP terror tactics. This will not stand. Avenatti is awesome and great to have on the side of American Decency, but America will not stand for this. Every American must fight to stop this evil pre-genocide spectacle. This is a call to war for all decent Americans. We went to war against Nazis to stop this kind of thing.

Anyone who justifies it is are as bad as the ones openly committing this heinous act because they are enabling it.
I had decided yesterday to start referring to the 'detention centers' as concentration camps. Today I am going to send a letter to each of my GOPer senators how is it that they can justify sending these children to concentration camps.

(4,380 posts)I don't know who I am more outraged at, Trump, his enablers in congress or the conservative "Christians" who put him/them in office. These so called "Christians" are doing more to destroy America, destroy decency, morality and empathy than any other group I can think of. And oh, they are also destroying their own religion in the process. FYI, I was raised in one of their sects, but I was NEVER taught to treat people this way.
Godspeed Mr. Avenatti!!!

(11,885 posts)And don't forget this is a clear pattern from trump and the gop hurting children with their policies. Cutting food programs for them , cutting their health care available to them, cutting EPA pollution standards polluting our air and water for them, and all being done intentionally, and hurting children. They should be shamed the rest of their lives for this now.

Every piece of fallacious argument and every flat out lie from diabolical Republican interviewees should not only be exposed by non-Murdoch interviewers, but also these steaming propaganda defecators should be truncated instead of the way gutless interviewers keep attempting to normalize such egregious bull dust.
That's the very least our feckless news media "celebrities" can do to fight against separating children into harmful incarceration. And why aren't they fighting for our school children whose gun regulation campaigns these same news celebrities have so quickly abandoned?
Thank goodness for Avenatti and hosts like Melber, Maddow and O'Donnell who provide Avenatti with opportunities for him to speak truth to power.
