I called Gillibrand and Schumer's office this morning to ask why their voice isn't louder and angrier that children are being ripped form their parents. Her office talked about a bill being introduced, blah, blah, blah. I said we need loud noise, now! Her office said the calls are appreciated and if I had friends ask them to call the office. The more calls the better they stand. So, here goes Gillibrand's #212-688-6262; Schumer's # 202-224-6542.

(17,665 posts)...they need to pound on the desk, scream, threaten, call out names of GOPs who support this. We need fire in the belly! I want them to preach like a Southern Baptist! Fire and Brimstone will rain down on all those who are complicit and sit by and watch these children suffer whatever it is that will befall them. A special place in hell for all those who turn a blind eye to this suffering.

One cannot be a legitimate force outside of DU by being angry and loud. Because it gets you noticed here doesn't mean it does everywhere.

(11,318 posts)Red states need the phone calls. List their numbers. New Yorkers always know where our senators stand on issues. We don't have to hound them.

(5,762 posts)Both senators are co-sponsors of the Keep Families Together Act (which I knew). They also suggested that I encourage other constituents to call, which I've been doing. Everyone in my family has already called.
They know what they have to do.
