.
Could this be true?
During a hearing about the Department of Justice Inspector Generals report on the FBI bias during the 2016 campaign, Lee interrupted a line of questioning from Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio.
Is it not appropriate to ask the question as to what is the germaneness of the gentlemans line of questioning and whether or not were dealing with the report or were dealing with the Republicans attempt to undermine [the Russia investigation] and to fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, which you are planning to do on Friday? Lee asked.

Republicans in Congress, however, do not have the power to fire Rosenstein. According to Justice Department rules, the president would have to ask Attorney General Jeff Sessions to fire the deputy attorney general. Trump would have the right to fire Sessions if he refused the order.

(7,725 posts)Looks like Friday is Waterloo. I swear to gods if mueller doesn't do something substantial by then, maybe it's time to ask a D to find out the progress. Or Adam Schiff or Swalwell needs to let us in on the goings on. WTF? Nunes knows....why shouldn't we? It's time to shit or get off the pot Mr Mueller. I hope you really got this. Beginning to wonder just how much evidence you need, to get even ONE charge going, for the horses ass in chief and his kids. People are most likely going to get hurt, we have a right to know whats up. 17 months is far long enough. This isn't a Nixon case. The evidence has been on the news everyday. A lawschool student could've made a case by now.
Please....let's put something on the table...THE ENTIRE WORLD AWAITS.
ps...has anyone even seen Mueller?

(68,825 posts)The GOP has to impeach Rosenstein...can't fire him. And the Senate would not go for it.

(7,725 posts)Mueller has an army of help. We need relief. He has to have a mountain of charges, how's about one to start out with so we can see how the other side has planned to react? I'm concerned we are putting all our eggs in one basket and if dt is any indication....things we thought were rock solid...Aren't. I just disagree I guess.
Watergate was an easier case, but, this country is fracturing. How are YOU so sure Mueller is going to have the goods on him? And moreover, once the country is essentially destroyed and the coffers empty, what is there to save? And how much time will the next admin take to fix everything instead of moving the ball forward? I dunno.

(116,003 posts)I don't know what this comment means, but Congress isn't going to "fire" Rosenstein on Friday. He's the deputy AG, a member of the executive branch, and Congress can't just oust him. They can try to impeach him, but as we know that's a long, complex process that would require a vote by the House and 2/3 of the Senate and is not likely to be successful. The only executive branch official (besides two presidents) ever impeached was Secretary of War William Belknap, who was acquitted in 1876.

(92,526 posts)scuttle in congress how they heard trump will be firing him.
On what grounds? It would be a flagrant abuse of power for sure, it is almost certain that the republicans wouldn't do or say a thing about it.
The only thing that can save the republic is 2018
