I joined the first protest

I ever participated in. In front of and in Rep. bill johnson's office 246 Front St. Marietta,Ohio 45750 Of course, he wasn't there.

We protested on behalf of the refugee families and children. About 15 people, mostly women, showed up and a reporter for a local paper came and stayed the whole time we were there. We all went into the office and Ashley, the office manager tried to order all but 3 of us out, because there wasn't enough room. There is a sign telling capacity which was more than our number, so Ashley lost Round 1. We stayed in the lobby so that people going by could see us in there. Some of the protesters with signs stayed on the sidewalk.

Lisa was our spokesperson, although some of us added some information. We can all be so well-informed. One lady told Ashley that refugee children are being held in 17 states. There is talk that some children are being held in a former military base in Columbus,Ohio. We heard that JAG lawyers are going to be used in the courts and we got to ask if that violates Posse Comitatus. Asked about plans to reunite children, and my favorite: asked when Johnson was going to stop supporting trump and be a leader.

Some big fat guy started screaming at the people holding signs. I am tall and heavy, so I went outside and stayed with the sign-bearers. The guy left after screaming about blocking the sidewalk. We weren't.

We got a lot of thumbs up and horns, also middle fingers and head-shaking.

I didn't take any pictures, some of the other people did. I knew a lot of the people and I might start going to the Democratic Women's lunches again.
