Have you considered that Trump got the jacket and made Melania wear it?

And she didn't have the strength to refuse to wear it?

Think of this: It had to be 65+ degrees in D.C. this morning and she's going to Texas in a jacket like that? Plus, Trump stated that he signed the Executive Order yesterday because his wife lobbied him to "do something". It doesn't make sense that Melania would feel so strongly as to lobby her husband and then wear a jacket today/the day after the Executive Order with that message. That message was HIS message which successfully overrode her message of humanity.

If she can't dress herself yet, that's hardly my problem. I refuse to assume away her agency. The third lady is a grown up capable of making her own decisions.

First - she doesn't care about Stormy etc. to the press at large - second, it is gone once she gets there because she does care about kids.

Yes. a generous interpretation -- or else her staff realized the gaffe once o the plane and engineered a jacket change.

Which means that you knew what it said.

It wasn't available off the shelf.

Which means that Melania either embraces that sentiment or that some asshole working for her does. My money is on the latter, because Melania barely speaks English.

I doubt that Trump shops for Malaria's clothes and tells her when to wear what.

I think it is shameful for a grown woman to wear such a jacket for any occasion.

Based on what I've seen of her public behavior, the two of them lead separate lives, maybe acknowledging each other's presences when the cameras are looking.

The jacket is odd - not because of the message (how do you say "let them eat cake" in Slovenian?) but because it's so cheap. Mel normally doesn't touch anything that' not gilded or under $1000.

It would be completely in line with his vindictive, misogynistic behavior to punish her for...whatever the hell his reasons are.

He had to know they needed to put up some show of "compassion", so too bad for Melania if he's so far gone that he can't even allow that to happen without using his wife as a prop.

As I've said, SOMEONE wanted to make sure that message was seen. Enough with this whole shitshow of an administration.

lobbied the shit gibbon to do anything. Did you see the tweet where one of the sons baby mamma tweeted about sending her kids off to summer camp? Trumps women are what they are and do what they want to do.

I've seen this crap before when I was active duty Air Force. Certain type of men liked foreign women to marry for ownership, talking about never wanting an American woman. I was happy for us, cause they appeared abusive assholes. Those women were isolated, but the branches of service should have been aware.

…..she may just be an a**hole too. But it is reasonable to assume that she has endured his humiliating behavior because it is an "If I go down, you and your family go down" situation. But then again, refer to a**hole reference.
Okay, I admit I know nothing other than what I see.

She really doesn't care or she wouldn't have said that "both sides" trope. This is her telling assface and the world her and her husbands' true feelings.
