There have been a few other examples of Melania being passive/aggressive -- and they seem to be increasing in frequency. There's no way she wore that jacket on accident. I don't think she's stupid, nor do I think she is a monster.

Either she's sending a message to her husband, or she's intentionally sabotaging her particpation(s) so she doesn't have to keep doing this bullshit. She knows that none of this, not a single iota of her husband's presidency, is right or moral. I think she also knows that he's dumb and insane (it's hard not to notice just watching on TV, so I can only imagine what in person for ten or fifteen years must be like).

I've never been able to stand her, personally, and had a visceral reaction when I realized she would be FLOTUS. But maybe she's not as stupidly opportunistic as she was even a couple of years ago, let alone 10-20 years ago.

And it's not so much goodness/kindness as it is that I can consider the possibility that she has the capacity to realize what a caricature she is--the gold digger third wife with all of the plastic surgery, etc., who is given stereotypical roles as FLOTUS, none of which appears to have come from her own brain.
