1. I think if Trump goes, Mike will go, too. Not because he's been charged with anything, but

because he's become so used to being Don's loyal comfort dog. Every time you see Trump, there's Pence gazing at him - completely and totally in love with his master. It's puke-ifying. (New word? LOL.)

2. Oh, bullshit, President Pence would be doing the exact same things Trump is now

only without the temper tantrums and twitter storms. Trump stepping down, being impeached, or choking on a McNugget would bring about a sea change in the Republican tone, but not in any of their deeds.

There would be a universal GOP song of "we're restoring decency and maturity to the White House", and then it would be business as usually. This would really be harder for the left to deal with than it is right now wit the orange vulgarian in office.

A guy sitting in jail for tampering with federal witnesses who is facing charges that will keep him there most of the rest of his life unless he get's a federal pardon.

History books: How did Pence become President - Answer: He was selected by a convicted felon.

You are right Pence is actually worse. Sacrificing Trump will be the play during the 2020 election season. Actually I would not be surprised if something happens like that in 2018 if the Blue Wave becomes too great.

On the other hand we have 40% of the voting population that wants what is happening.

Even if we take the House, we can't evict him through an impeachment process, because the Senate won't vote to convict him. Unless Mueller really has something devastating on him that even the Republicans can't spin their way out of, we are stuck with him for the rest of his term. Everything that he is doing is destructive to this country. He is either a deliberate traitor under the control of Putin, or he is so colossally stupid that he doesn't know what he is doing.

8. Best case is getting 51 in Senate

and that is not going to happen. Next best thing is the House because legislation stops (it almost has already). Also the House could then use its oversight power (assuming the Executive branch doesn't ignore them and a compliant Judiciary allows them to get away with it).

to the Republicans going into 2020. I suspect it will be some sort of backroom deal to get him out in a face saving gesture (if it happens at all). He will not be impeached.

It ignores the steps that must happen to get to that point.

10. Don't want a much less obnoxious Pence to enter 2020 as POTUS.

as president. The "Trump hate" won't necessarily transfer over to the VP, meanwhile Pence will bide his time, making like Mr. Nice Guy.

I honestly beleive that it is impossible to be worse than trump. We are about to witness genocide in the open on US soil using our taxes.
