At the rate we're going, we might see similar reactions in Canada and western Europe.
Then again, we've gained the good will (in public at least) of tyrants in North Korea and Russia.

I guess it's too much to hope that Pence is aware of the history of unpopular vice presidents touring Latin America, but I imagine the Secret Service and local law enforcement will take more than the usual precautions around this,
The potential for something going very wrong is far greater now than it would have been for Vice President Biden in 2015.
