Jon Livesey also said, that if you correct someone's grammar or spelling on the internet, you have a higher chance of having a grammar or spelling error in the next few posts.

Godwin's is when you compare someone or something to the NAZIs on the internet the discussion dies.

It was the brits, ex-pats and a few American members against all the "foreigners" that kept cross-posting in the newsgroup. Great debates, with great minds. And Livesey came up with the rule, that if you had to use Hitler to push your argument, you automatically lost the argument.

It was that as any internet discussion proceeds over time, the probability of comparisons to Hitler approaches unity.

People used that to declare discussions over when Hitlerian comparisons were brought up. Since the corollaries between current politics and the 1930's increase, Godwin sort of blessed the idea of making the comparison.

You read the Wiki page! Or you knew already.
Fact is, we are much farther along in the process than we realize.

Once again, for the people in the back:
When they come for the immigrants, speak out!
Use whatever privilege you have to wake people up.

We, of the internet, can and should freely discuss Hitler, because what he did, Trump can do. All it takes is silence.

During WW II my father worked as a chemist at a factory making smokeless gunpowder. One night on his day off it blew up, killing a lot of his friends.
