Administration says it has a plan to reunite immigrant families; Democrats are skeptical

WASHINGTON — Democrats responded skeptically Sunday to the Trump administration's assertion that it has a process in place to reunite more than 2,000 "separated minors" with their parents, while Republican lawmakers sought to defend the president's immigration policies and again promised that all the children taken from their parents in recent weeks were accounted for.

Trump himself, however, redoubled his denunciation of all unauthorized arrivals, even those legally seeking asylum. In a message on Twitter, he suggested that people crossing the border should be deported summarily, without a court hearing.

"We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country," he wrote. "When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came."

Despite Trump's language about invasion, the flow of people crossing the border illegally remains low compared with just a few years ago, although numbers are higher than they were last spring, in the months just after Trump took office.

Seriously - admin could be forced to again separate immigrant children.....

A 1997 landmark settlement known as the Flores agreement generally prevents the government from keeping children in immigration detention for more than 20 days. Trump is seeking to have the settlement overturned, but his Justice Department has said the 20-day policy remains in effect until Congress or the courts take action to change it.

That means if Congress fails to pass legislation or the courts decline to change the terms of the settlement, the administration could be forced to again separate the immigrant children from their parents in three weeks.

Seriously? - They haven't even started to reunite the onea already separated...
