(50,342 posts)could have made the Supreme Court a more prominent part of the election. We've got to get past the notion we might hurt someone's feelings if we fight back. It might not have worked, but at least we could say we tried our hardest to prevent this nightmare.

Obama's big mistake was not pushing harder for it, or sending him to the SCOTUS and then announcing that the Senate had waived their right to advise & consent so he was appointing Merrick Garland after 90 days.
and, for all of Obama's moderate to liberal politics, he was probably too much of a constitutional traditionalist to do something like that:

(34,661 posts)that became very evident by July of 2016 . As we worked the phones are discussing issues with people going back and forth to DC. It became very apparent that White House Advisor's were telling Obama to not get sideways in this debate for fear of being Partisan.
Well what the hell do you think was the forecast results. Some of those Conversations we were having in our local office were damn hot. And we ended up with what most had expected.
