**More Good News VA SENATE- Kaine 54% Stewart 36%**

June 26, 2018 - Kaine Up 18 Points In Virginia U.S. Senate Race, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; Voters Have Almost 2-1 Negative View Of GOP

With a lead among women topping 2-1, Virginia U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, the Democratic incumbent, has an overall lead of 54 - 36 percent over Republican challenger Corey Stewart, chair of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll released today.

Women back Sen. Kaine 61 - 28 percent, while men are divided with 46 percent for Kaine and 45 percent for Stewart, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll finds. White voters go Democratic 49 - 42 percent. Non-white voters go Democratic 66 - 20 percent.

Stewart takes Republicans 83 - 7 percent. Kaine leads 94 - 1 percent among Democrats and 54 - 34 percent among independent voters.

Virginia voters approve 55 - 36 percent of the job Kaine is doing and give him a 51 - 33 percent favorability rating. Stewart gets a divided 28 - 30 percent favorability, with 39 percent who don't know enough about him to form an opinion of him.

The economy is the most important issue in deciding how they will vote for U.S. Senator, 26 percent of Virginia voters say, as 21 percent list immigration, with 19 percent citing health care and 14 percent listing gun policy.

"U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine is in very strong shape for reelection in Virginia, especially among women," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll.

"Virginia, which was once a solidly red state, has made the full transition to a blue bastion. Voters in the Old Dominion are happy with the way things are going in their state and they give their statewide Democratic office-holders good approval ratings."

"The office-holder they don't like is President Donald Trump, whose job approval is strongly negative. Voters see candidates who embrace him negatively," Brown added.

Only 32 percent of Virginia voters have a favorable opinion of the Republican Party, while 59 percent have an unfavorable opinion.

The Democratic Party gets a divided 46 - 45 percent favorability rating.

Can a Deplorable, i.e. Republican win a state where the median education is higher than the eighth grade?

See if Kaine has some coattails that other candidates can ride to surprising victories. Get Democrats to the polls, and vote the whole ticket.

Corey Stewart is a horrible candidate.

Stewart is a RW clone of the OrangeTurd who is very unpopular here.

VA isn’t that kind of state any more.

A lot of educated white women who used to vote Republican really hate Trump.

They probably won’t be voting for Comstock.

closely divided between a very reasonable, moderate Dem vs. a right wing nut. If it were not for women, Kaine would be in trouble.

Poll after poll--not just in Virginia--shows that white males in particular have to be offset by everyone else. I think that until we confront what is really going on here, Dems will continue to have problems.

Toxic masculinity is still what most boys and young men are into:

1. Social programs are for pussies.
2. Empathy is a sign of weakness.
3. Violence is the best way to solve problems.
4. Guns are the best deterrent to crime.
5. Real men make nature bend to their will.
6. Real men make women bend to their will.

And so it goes.

If blue areas east of Roanoke do not turn out do to overconfidence, this election could be closer than it looks right now. No time for complacency anymore. We have seen that movie before.

We here in Northern Virginia love us some Tim Kaine and totally despise 45 . . if NoVA is as energized as I truly believe we will be, no worries.

And I actually still think she did, except for some treachery.

GOP decided to not put a lot of resources into this campaign because they have a particularly horrendous candidate running against a popular incumbent. But after 2016 I am going to count my chickens carefully....

Meanwhile, would love to see Morgan Griffith go down to Anthony Flaccavento in our district's house race.
