Cancer in the blood streamMy sister has been cancer free @ 6 mo until today. Its back in her blood

She had colon cancer. Had surgery, removed a section of her colon and then 6 months of chemo. Finished her last round about Thanksgiving.

Today after a biopsy last week was told it was back in her blood stream.

Isn't that leukemia?

need to find out if this is a new cancer and if so, what kind. I don't know if colon cancer can metastasize to blood. If it's not metastisized colon cancer - and a different kind of blood cancer - there are many new treatments. My husband's cancer is considered uncurable but it's been manageable and he has handled the treatments very well.

I am sorry for your sister receiving this news - but you need more information about what exactly she is being told. Fingers crossed, whatever it is - there is a treatment for her that she can tolerate well. Sending healing throughs to you and your family.

Prostate cancer.

In early July I get surgery to remove it.
No chemotherapy is on the menu, but I still am rather antsy about it all.

it is still called by the original name, such as breast cancer showing up later in another part of the body is still considered breast cancer.

which does not mean that you can't have one form of cancer, have it treated, and then come down with another kind of cancer.
Apparently they can tell the difference among different kinds of cancer.
