Bonds said she will look at the positive the situation is presenting.

“If in fact we’re called upon, one of the positives is economic impact,” she said, adding the number of people responsible for caring for the children must live in the community.

Aside from security personnel, Bonds said she was told there will be mental health professionals onsite as well.

“What we're told is there have been a few other places in our country that have asked for things,” she said. “In other words, what are some positive things can we ask for, for our community in exchange, not that we have any choice, but in exchange for them coming into our community.”
