Yes, super blue districts are going to elect more progressive candidates . Other districts will elect more centrist candidates.I welcome them all. The "Democratic party is in turmoil" bullshit needs to stop.

This stunt probably sealed his fate:

Crowley's conduct is what should serve as a warning.

That sounds like the bigger story.
In truth, disrespecting the Primary process is really an insult to the voters and it shows.

Its been a vote getter since 1995!
I really think she should acknowledge the brave woman who owns that famous quote.
Its the right thing to do, as a fellow Democrat.

(6,288 posts)Her campaign was the only one that was truly rigged, as it turns out.
Rigged by a bunch of men. And look what they brought us.
It would be respectful & just, for those who wave her quotes on their banners, to also honor the human rights accomplishments she's bravely stood for, & in the face of mockery & mysogony by the weaker souls & gloating cruelty of society.
Her strength of conviction is owed, at the very least, recognition by those who use now her words.

(5,547 posts)I was watching one of the morning shows and they were really going over the top on this.
They compared it to Eric Cantor a few years back. Maybe I have been living in the dark, but I don't think this guy had nearly the high profile that Cantor had.
I have zero concerns about primary battles where the Dem can go on to win the General election. It only becomes a problem when the primary sabotages our chances in the general.

(14,971 posts)Dem Socialists mostly lost their races so I don't think that this one race in a super blue district is indicative of anything. There are a lot of reasons why she won including Crowley's performance.

(30,481 posts)Pretty poor propoganda at that.
People have yet to get how this made up narrative helps Trump and Republicans. The media gets it. They also get that the LIVs they are pandering to dont.
The propoganda helps profits, Trump and the Republicans. There is a group on the left who live to do just that. One needs to look no further than the support right wing extremist HA Goodman got right here on DU.
One of Goodmans biggest fans on DU came out from hiding to post ops and comments stoking division this morning.
They are an extremely loud and ignorant crew. We always bite and take their yelling at walls as if it was a lot of people.

(130,139 posts)than when you had similar happen in 2010 with the teabaggers and the media reporting about them - e.g., when Mike Lee ousted Bob Bennett in the 2010 Utah primary, where the M$M cheered on those new "insurgents".

(32,103 posts)This morning, NBC/Today took the chance to get some allegedly "former" republican on the spew nonsense about how this, and an "energized far left" are going to help Trump.

(6,288 posts)They played that game throughout 2015/16.
Mueller told us who benefitted from media manipulation.
It was then, as well as now, absolutely by design.
They're still doing it.
