Unable to win the debate, host Brian Kilmeade abruptly ended his interview with Rep. Mark Pocan.

On Wednesday morning, Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade confronted Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) about legislation hes introduced that would abolish U.S. Customs and Immigration (ICE). It did not go well for Kilmeade.
Pocan recently made a trip to the southern border. Upon his return, he released a statement saying, it was clear that ICE, and its actions of hunting down and tearing apart families, has wreaked havoc on far too many people.
Pocan began the interview by explaining why he thinks ICE should be shut down.
Unfortunately, the president has created this situation where ICE is not doing what it was created to do. It is being used as his own personal police force, and in those actions it is actually making it less safe because the critical functions of ICE can no longer happen when the president has them going after people in church and workplaces, Pocan said.

(46,166 posts)He didn't bite when BK attempted to take him off message. Pocan stayed on his message calmly and clearly. He even got the last word with a clear fact regarding the reassignment of ICE employees. This interview could be a template on how to get a Dem message across while appearing on Fox.

(7,028 posts)When you go on Fox you have to be louder and more obnoxious than their Gestapo hosts who ask loaded stupid questions .

(5,754 posts)You just have to keep talking when they interrupt you, and interrupt them sometimes. Just answer the first question they ask and ignore any interruptions.

I almost with there was a third reply stating that one must be more monotone when addressing their audience. That would have covered every single base.
Pretty funny.

(46,786 posts)But, let's talk about right-wing debate strategy. It came down to "ICE, who is making us safe, versus Illegals." Conservatives don't differentiate between the three hundred gang members and the other undocumented immigrants. The truth is, racism wants them all out of the country. Which is why we heard this as a win for Pocan, but the FoxNews listener was left unmoved.

(3,515 posts)It's utterly beyond me. The logical inconsistencies and errors in thinking are so obivious.
Generalizations? Assumptions that do not relate to reality?
What we need is a program that specifically analyzes statements and presentations on Fox News for their logical and factual errors.

(2,032 posts)When they finally stop talking over you look up and say "are you done yet".
Get your phone ready.
Practice.
You could pretend you are texting and talk into the mic. "I'm at Fox and they won't let me talk, I am here for scenery, let's do lunch".
That would blow up their control room of Himmler types.
