if we get a majority in the senate, it's a different story, but even if we get one in the mid-terms, they'll confirm kennedy's replacement before the new congress is sworn in.

(52,512 posts)they might briefly try to avoid going nuclear, but they won't compromise their pick. they'll go nuclear if they have to, and it will barely make news. just like most people don't realize they went nuclear to get gorsuch in.

(23,387 posts)I thought Gorsuch was a nuclear confirmation. So I assume all future Supreme Court nominees will be approved by simple majority. Or does "nuclear" mean something else?
