Richard Blumenthal (D-CT): "A confirmation vote should take place after a new Congress is seated."

The American people shld have a voice. A confirmation vote shld take place after a new Congress is seated. My Republican colleagues shld follow their own precedent.

They can filibuster all other Senate business, but that is risky with an electorate who, for the most part, would have no clue why it was being done.

Strike that. The low-info voters (basically the majority of voters) would only know that Democrats aren't allowing any bills to pass the Senate because they hate America.

The GOP would love to run commercial after commercial leading up to the election with that message. And, you know what? That would work on a great number of voters.

We're freaked out right now... but we're energized and ready to fight.
It's our lives on the line. Then they need to get out and really connect with
the greater country and make a tangible case for democracy (yes, it's come to this).

C'mon, invoking McConnell's nasty manuever is just
inside political jabbing and accomplishes nothing.
I don't care for this lame talking point one bit -
it makes us Democrats look weak. We need to do
smarter things if we're gonna survive.

He refused and Grassely, the chair of the Judiciary Committee refused to schedule hearings. No hearings, no vote.

It may not be possible to stop hearings and a vote this fall.

Annually millions of people march with “We demand...” signs for any number of things, and they’re lucky to even get media coverage, let alone change.

“Demanding” something means nothing unless you have something to compel them to your demand. Righteous anger is not enough.

So Sen. Blumenthal, what are you willing to do to prevent them from voting ASAP, like tomorrow? Please tell us because you know good and damn well repugs are total hypocrites and will absolutely not follow their own precedent. You know drumpf doesn't vet, he will just put in whoever Putin tells him to, someone who's already on the take for Russia. So what are you willing to do to stop the death of democracy, Senator?

Ha!! Ha!! Ha!! Since when have Reps ever played by the rules? Rep party has turned into a bunch of thugs, and thieves, they could care less about rules. Decency doesn't mean a thing to reps. They know democrats are nice, honest, play by the rules people and they also know we are pushovers and strive to do the right thing. Dems fight for the people that need their help rather than fight our opponents. I hope and pray somehow, someway Reps get theirs!!!
