(2,130 posts)I would not recommend the Army, of course. I would recommend the Navy. You're less likely to get shot at, or indicted for war crimes.
I cast my first vote by absentee ballot in the 1972 Presidential Primary. I was somewhere in the Pacific, serving aboard the USS Mahan. I voted for Shirley Chisolm. Never regretted that vote.

(81,612 posts)My dad asked me over the dinner table one night who I thought Id vote for. I said Shirley Chisholm. He looked at me, aghast, and shouted - Shirley CHISHOLM????? Didnt change my mind.
Thats how long IVE been wanting a woman president.
