Our rights as women will take a fundamental step back.
They don't have to stop at just abortion. The RW went nuts when it comes to women and the pill.
The pill has been women's salvation from forced pregnancies and gave us the ability to make determination about our own lives. We could plan our families so we could have a career or just decide not to have children altogether. It wasn't until the 1970's that women could have a tubal ligation without permission from their husbands.
Every bit of that, these assholes want to rip it away in the guise of being "pro-life".
Also, it won't stop there. Anti-sodomy laws...back on the books along with bathroom bills that will go nationwide. If they don't take marriage equality completely away, they'll sure as hell go after all the benefits that go with it.
Gawd, they could well force LGBTQ service members out of the military.
This is just the beginning of a new and horrifying national nightmare.

(6,419 posts)In the eyes of RW males, women were "in their place" until the mid-60's when science created the ability to make reproductive health decisions. The Pill...abortion...they weren't sins against life. They were sins against the white male establishment.
I think they're fighting on two fronts to retain their privilege. the immigration wars are about eliminating the people of color competition. the reproductive health wars are about eliminating the gender competition.
we've come to the point where the white guys only win when the other team ain't on the field...and they know it.

(14,863 posts)that the Pill works by inducing an abortion if the woman has had sex. I'm not talking about RU-486, mind you, and not even Plan B, but ordinary, daily BC pills. Yes, people really believe this. That's why Hobby Lobby didn't want to pay for oral BC, because they honestly and truly believe it works by inducing an abortion.

It's fucking insane.
