Sanders points to Democratic embrace of Medicare for all as evidence for above statement.
I guess that depends on who "we" is.

(5,969 posts)Families are torn apart, people will lose their healthcare, the composition of the SC deciding crucial topics will be changed for decades. All of this isn't negated by some political positions.
Again, he seems to only talk from his own privilege. In a way, it seems to have worked out better for him that Trump won the election. Maybe that was by design and the intended outcome. He surely keeps cashing in which is winning of some sort as well.

(30,481 posts)A way that Trump and Sanders are tuned in: They know exactly what their base wants to hear and they don't give a damn how it sounds in reality. They know who the impassioned people are and direct their propaganda toward them.
Many members of our party can learn from this. We shouldn't go full Trump/Sanders style as that also mitigates support in other areas but turning the volume up a little when it comes to propaganda would be a good thing.

(30,481 posts)That is why I included the "volume" part. They, especially Sanders, negates the ability to form consistent and larger coalitions.

Rumpled, crumpled, Trumpled
The energy on the left is focused on opposing Mr Trumps attack on liberal democracy, not on carrying forward Mr Sanderss revolution. The success of moderate candidates in the Democratic primaries suggests this is making the party more pragmatic and mindful of party unity than Mr Sanders, an ideologue who is not a Democratic Party member, might like.

it's sad when the mind goes... Bernie had a fine career, though. I wish reporters would cut him some slack and not make "news" with every single silly thing he says.
PS Hillary did win, and it wasn't close. She wasn't elected, which is the problem - the Congressional races also gave Dems Congress, if you count the cotes and not the districting (more people voted for Democrats all over the country).

(25,815 posts)After being scared out of their wits about Obamacare, many people came to see that the ACA was a good thing. They got over the socialism scare and had a taste of what it's like not to be powerless against the insurance companies. Then along comes Trump who wants to take it away and go back to the bad old days. Of course Medicare for All has more support. Thanks, Obama and Pelosi!

The public advocacy organization MedicareForAll.org has been asking BS and his supporters to get on board for years.
